Biddick Hall

Biddick Hall which stands in the grounds of Lambton Castle in County Durham was used to film BBC One’s new eight-part period drama The Paradise. Set in 1870 and based on an Émile Zola novel The Paradise is the story of Britain’s first department store. The shop, Victorian street and tavern were all constructed on the estate. We built its website a while ago and now we’ve added a content management system (CMS) to enable the owners to keep the site up to date.

Biddick Hall is available to hire on an exclusive use basis, with its ten bedrooms it comes complete with cook, waiting staff and housekeepers. So if you are planning a wedding, a celebration or simply to spoil yourself and your friends.

Website design guidelines

As we embark on the journey to craft the digital embodiment of Biddick Hall, here are the key guidelines to illuminate our path:

  1. Timeless Elegance Meets Modern Functionality: Infuse the website design with the timeless elegance and historical charm that Biddick Hall exudes. Blend this allure with modern user-friendly features, ensuring intuitive navigation and responsive performance across devices.
  2. Historical Showcase: Devote a section to Biddick Hall’s historical significance, complete with captivating visuals and anecdotes that transport visitors to the Victorian era. Seamlessly integrate images from “The Paradise” and other historical events that enrich the estate’s legacy.
  3. Exclusive Event Showcase: Design a dedicated section highlighting Biddick Hall’s availability for exclusive use events. Showcase the ten luxurious bedrooms available for hire, complemented by a dedicated team of staff members to attend to guests’ needs.
  4. Event Galleries and Testimonials: Create galleries of past events held at Biddick Hall, offering a visual journey through the experiences of those who have relished its splendor. Include glowing testimonials from satisfied clients, further attesting to the hall’s allure.
  5. Streamlined Booking: Develop a user-friendly booking interface that allows potential clients to inquire about availability, pricing, and package details effortlessly. Ensure that each inquiry is promptly acknowledged.
  6. Interactive Map and Contact Information: Integrate an interactive map that guides visitors to Biddick Hall’s location. Include comprehensive contact information, making it easy for interested parties to reach out with questions or bookings.
  7. CMS Empowerment: Implement a robust Content Management System (CMS) that empowers Biddick Hall’s team to effortlessly update event details, imagery, and testimonials, ensuring the website remains current and captivating.
